NEW HOME

On Christmas Eve, Ken, his parents, Leanne and I went to visit Ken's aunt and uncle.  They live about three miles away from us.  As we pulled up to their house Ken noticed that the neighbors house was up for sale.  If you know my husband that is like sticking candy in front of a sugar addict.  So of course he decided to go check it out.  By the way I should mention that we had been looking for a house to buy.  Well he finally made his way over to his aunts house and came in all excited.  He said that the house looked in decent condition and it had a big backyard.  So we all decided to go take a look.  Thank goodness it was empty!  Don't need the homeowners calling the cops.  So we walked around and peeked inside could not see to much but it was eight at night and we were using a dying flashlight to look at everything.  Well I was pretty impressed and so we wrote down the info so we could call an agent.  Turns out the house was bank owned and not on the market, but she would call me when it was.  So we waited to hear back from her.  Two weeks later we got a call that it was going on the market and for really cheap!  So we made an appointment to see the inside the very next day.  Well we ended up making an offer right there in the house with the agent.  Pretty crazy considering that the house had barely been on the market for 24 hours.  So offer was accepted and we have a close of escrow date set for Feb 25.  On Monday Ken's parents were over and wanted to see the inside.  So we went with our agent and took pictures.  Now I have to warn you some of these are really scary.  So if you have someone reading this with you that is a designer you might want to send them out of the room.   Also please ignore the date never been able to figure out how to fix that.

Our first real house!!  It is cute and small and I can not wait to make it our own.

The ugly blue garage door.  It is not the worst color, but it definitely not my taste.  Unfortunately the front door and trim is painted the same color and I will have to live with it that way for maybe a year.
This is taken standing at the front door and looking into the main room.  Nice new tile and it is clean.  Very important!! Also there is new paint on the walls.
Ken looking into the dishwasher.  Appliances date back to the eighties and the counter tops are butcher block but in good condition.  The paint on the cupboards is wearing off but we are going to re-paint them and add some hardware and they will go nicely with the our "New but Used" appliances that we found.   And  yes the panels for the light are missing but that is ok becasue we are going to tear them out anyway.
The dining area or the other half of the kitchen.  It is a small kitchen
I am standing at the other side of the property.  It is a big yard and we are already planning for a huge extension to the house and then a garden and some trees.
The two sheds in the backyard.  the bigger one has a bunch of shelving and will be used for the business and the smaller one is for Ken's tools and car parts.  Not to mention there is a work bench and three huge book shelves in the garage which will also be used for storage.
